
IT Support Technician
Location: Spain (office-based, with occasional travel to UK office)
Type: Full-time
Reports to: Managing Director

Role Purpose
The IT Support Technician provides essential technical support and systems management for Overseas Lifestyle Services’ UK and Spain operations. This includes responsibility for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all hardware, software, and network systems. The role is both hands-on and strategic, ensuring IT systems run efficiently, securely, and in alignment with company growth and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Maintenance
- Provide first-line support to staff for hardware, software, and system issues.
- Diagnose, repair, and resolve PC, laptop, and peripheral problems.
- Manage and maintain office networks (wired and Wi-Fi), routers, printers, and VoIP systems.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.
- Maintain hardware inventory, software licences, and user access permissions.
Systems Administration & Security
- Administer company systems including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and CRM platforms.
- Ensure regular software updates, backups, and patch management are completed.
- Oversee cybersecurity measures including anti-virus, firewall, MFA, and access control.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and GDPR-compliant data management.
- Support remote workers with secure VPN and remote desktop access.
Business Systems & Development
- Liaise with management to identify opportunities for automation and improved workflow efficiency.
- Support CRM customisation, document templates, and data integrations between systems.
- Assist with implementation of new technologies, software tools, and service platforms.
- Work with external vendors and consultants on technical upgrades or system migrations.
Staff Support & Training
- Provide user training and written guides for software, security, and system usage.
- Support onboarding of new staff with account setup and equipment configuration.
- Promote good IT practices, data protection awareness, and cybersecurity hygiene.
Backup & Continuity
- Ensure backup systems are running and tested regularly.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans and restore procedures.
- Document IT infrastructure, passwords, procedures, and support guides clearly.
Ideal Candidate
- Trained IT generalist with good knowledge of hardware, networking, and cloud systems.
- Practical, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a supportive and service-focused approach.
- Good working knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, Google Workspace, and CRM tools.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and GDPR compliance.
- Able to work independently, occasionally after hours for maintenance or emergencies.
- Fluent English required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
